Product Description

.Optical Convex Lens

.What Is Optical Lenses

Lenses have many applications ranging from the simple collection to the precise imaging and image transfer. Lenses are a transparent optical component consisting of one or more pieces of optical glass with curved surfaces, so that they serve to converge or diverge the transmitted rays from an object, thus forming a real or virtual image of that object. Fit-Optics is your specialized “one stop shop” meeting your expectations and exacting tolerance requirements. Whether you need one piece or a mass production, Fit-Optics is your leading service provider.

.Common Shapes Of Optical Lenses

1. Concave, Convex Lenses - Concave lenses diverges a beam of light from a distant source. The convex lenses and compound lenses focus light from a distant source to a point. The distance between the focus and the lens is called the focal length. The shorter the focus, the more powerful the lens has.

2. Double Concave Lenses - Double-Concave Lenses are symmetrical with equal radius on both sides having two inward curved surfaces and a negative focal length. They are used in optical systems in combination with other lenses. These lenses also work as beam- expanders, optical character readers, viewers and projection systems. Lenses can be anti-reflection coated.

3. Double Convex Lenses - Double-Convex Lenses are symmetrical with equal radius on both sides or may have a sharper curve on one side. These outward curving faces are used as magnifiers, objectives, and condensing systems. Lenses can be anti-reflection coated.

4. Meniscus - A lens having two spherically curved faces, one convex and the other concave, so that it has the form of a shell. A positive meniscus lens is thicker in the middle than at the edges and serves as a converging lens; a negative meniscus lens thickens toward the edges and works as a diverging lens.

5. Plano Concave Lenses - Plano Concave Lenses are negative focus length lenses that have a flat surface on one side and a spherical surface on the other. They are used to expand beams or to increase focal lengths in optical systems or other similar applications. Lenses can be anti-reflection coated.

6. Plano Convex Lenses - Plano Convex Lenses are positive focus length lenses that have a flat surface on one side and spherical surface on the other. They are used for focusing beams in telescopes, collimator or condenser systems, optical transceivers or other applications. Lenses can be anti-reflection coated.
